Description
Here we have my 1998 Mitsubishi Evo 5 in scotia white, this can is a Japanese import and I am its 5th UK owner (previous 2 being father and son).
I have owned this since April 2021 and covered nearly 10k miles during the summer months. This car comes with extensive history of everything that has been done to the car in it’s time in the UK.
Very basic spec list is,
68, 000 miles
Later generation evo 7 engine with 9 turbo
Does have the later generation 5 front LSD
Link ECU (390hp)
Bilstein B14 coilovers
More details of work and modifications made within my ownership.
Firstly, this car is serviced (All oils changed) every 2000 miles. Yes, this is obsessive, but it doesn’t get driven much so I do it when I can.
In March 2022 the transfer box was taken out, striped and rebuilt using new genuine gears, bearings and shims which I imported from Japan. Along side this, the AYC pump was also stripped refurbished using the Evolution hydraulics service kit and the lines replaces for braided versions. Excedy clutch and flywheel kit fitted.
May 2023 year a custom intake was made utilising a K&N filter and Forge Recirc valve. This allowed space for a new Odyssey PC680 gel battery and their own battery tray.
Later this year November – February the car has a substantial amount of work done. What some people would class as a light restoration. The whole rear end of the car was dropped (Subframe, diff, suspension arms, hubs, filler neck, fuel tank) as well as brake lines and calipers.
As you can see from the photos, all arms were blasted and powder coated, subframe blasted and ceramic coated, all bushes replaced with Powerflex poly bushes, tow arms replaced with hard race adjustable units. The rear diff was replaced with a lower mileage (30k) AYC unit sourced from a friend who has done an RS conversion. All hardware replated to match the fresh components.
Hard brake lines were replaced, and the calipers stripped, split and fully rebuilt (pistons, seals, nipples, new hardware and fresh paint) as well as the flexi lines being replaced with braided lines. Rear disc dust covers were pretty poor after blasting so I produced a jig in order to make fresh ones.
Whilst tank was removed this was coated in Por15 rust preventative paint and new fuel filter placed on the pump (Walbro 255).
The original suspension was replaced with Bilstein B14 coilovers.
Hubs were also blasted and powder coated and fitted with new wheel bearings all round. Along with hardrace extended wheel studs. Allowing room for spacers.
The Speedline Turini alloys were refurbished in a “Japanese Bronze”
Full custom 3-inch stainless steel exhaust.
Fuel filler neck replaced.
Mishimoto Alloy radiator fitted
I have left off the full list of components fitted but will more than happily go though everything. As I so feel like I’m missing some things. Sale does include all original parts. Excellent Condition, Low mileage and tastefully modified
