1970 Land Rover Series 2 Dormobile
The original 4x4 Motorhome , converted by Dormobile in Folkstone with many sensible upgrades added for modern driving
The vehicle has been rebuilt onto a galvanised chassis ( now waxoiled black to retain appearance ) Some body repairs have been carried out where necessary .
Parabolic springs fitted to improve the ride , freewheel hubs , Fairey overdrive and a front disc brake conversion
It has a Steve Parker engine conversion fitted . An LDV 400 2. 5 Turbo Diesel ( Peugeot Derived ) A Very robust and reliable unit , fitted well it even looks factory install .
Runs and drives well and much more suited to daily driving with all the upgrades than a typical Series 2
4 side steps and a set of wolf rims finish off the look on the outside
The interior is also in very good order with all the Dormobile associated items present . folding seats to make a double bed , 2 over head bunks , sink , cooker etc
The history folder for this car is remarkable , from annual servicing , MOT, s , sundries , upgrades etc its about 2" thick , and a good read . Clearly had no expence spared over the years by enthusiastic owners
