Description
Built in 1995, this Toyota Supra RZ Twin Turbo automatic was imported to the UK from Japan in November 2003, an old MOT showing that it had covered 103, 937 KM at the time of import (64, 580 miles) in 2003.
It was owned by a dealer until August 2005 when it was acquired by a London-based architect who was to keep it right up until 2019. During his 14-year ownership the car was kept in storage and barely driven, the next MOT being issued in November 2018 (with no advisories) at 105, 853 KM.
Our vendor, a collector, acquired the car in May 2021 and has used it sparingly through the summer months, the odometer currently showing 110, 800kms (69, 000 miles).
A top spec RZ model, it has the desirable factory options of 4-pot front brakes, Torsen limited slip differential and Bilstein suspension. An AutoWatch alarm/ immobiliser system was fitted in May 2005 while onboard entertainment is provided by a remote-operated DVD/ CD/ radio system. Two sets of keys and alarm fobs are present along with an original Toyota Supra Owner’s Manual in English.
As you can see, the car is in totally original and unmodified condition throughout– most unusual with these MkIV Supras.
The car was featured in a twin-test by a Classic Car Mag against a stock Honda NSX a few years ago and came out on top, a copy of which is included.
Most importantly though, it is rock solid both above and below thanks to spending so many years unused and in storage. The engine bay is also exceptionally clean, tidy and original as is the interior.
The MOT is valid until 30th June 2026 recording no advisories and the car was treated to a timing belt service shortly after purchase in 2021 and new battery along with a pair of new rear shocks, new alternator, ECU refurbishment, new rear tires, refurbishment of the alloy wheels and ceramic coat to the paintwork.
With 326bhp on tap from its Twin Turbo (sequential in reality) legendary 2jZ 3. 0 liter straight-six engine, this iconic Japanese sportscar was a match for any Porsche or Ferrari in its day - even the carpets had hollow fibers to save weight.
The Twin Turbo has gained a cult following in recent years, not least due to appearances in the Fast and Furious film series and in computer games like Gran Turismo, with the very best manual versions already fetching six-figure sums in America.
Surely among the most unspoilt Supra Twin Turbos remaining, this well-preserved example, with its low mileage and outstandingly original condition, would sit well in any collection and could yet prove a shrewd investment price suggested.
