Exceptionally original condition — probably unique in Europe
Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint in strict, original condition — meticulously preserved like the first day, by just 3 owners. Impeccable history and a superb accompanying file (purchase invoice from 1962, Swedish MOT/ inspection records allowing the mileage to be traced and thus confirming that the 2600 covered less than 1, 000 km per year!, service invoices, Aaldering Gallery sale invoice, etc.). Even the complete tool kit is present!
Its 6-cylinder 2584 cc engine fitted with 3 Solex twin-choke carburettors is in perfect health and has been looked after by a specialist. It starts just as easily cold as hot and pulls smoothly through the revs. Gearbox, steering and braking are in equally perfect condition.
Bodywork never repainted, which only adds to its charm, presents beautifully. The chrome is in excellent condition and the underbodies show no corrosion whatsoever, confirming outstanding care and preservation.
The fully original blue leather upholstery has a fantastic patina that adds character to the cabin. The blue leather and metal dashboard is complete and everything is fully functional, even the original radio!
It passes its inspections with zero faults.
Registered in January 1963 in Sweden, its first owner, Mr Falko, kept it for more than 50 years, with the full run of Swedish technical inspection records throughout that entire period. Member of the Alfa Romeo Club of Sweden, he was so attached to it that he had a nameplate fitted on the dashboard. The 2600 was featured in many reports, including via the Alfa Romeo Club of Sweden, where you can see Mr Falko posing proudly alongside it. After his passing, the car was imported and sold in France in 2016 by the famous dealer Aaldering Gallery, following a complete inspection/ revision, and it has continued to be looked after and maintained with the same philosophy of keeping it in original condition, supported by a documented file and invoices.
Total reliability: the 2600 made the Biarritz to Lille trip in total comfort and with complete reliability! It now takes part in Alfa Romeo Club of Hauts-de-France outings and was recently displayed at the Rétromobile d’Arras.
