Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 2026 on Saturday the 21st of March - Sunday the 22nd of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
Introduced in September 1953, the MG TF was based on the same chassis and mechanical components as the TD Mark II. The centre section of the body shell remained virtually the same as that of the TD but the most significant change was to adopt a sloping radiator grille that, for the first time, concealed a separate radiator
Initially the car was launched with the faithful 1, 250cc XPAG engine that made its debut in the TB Midget back in 1939
This lovely example dates from 1954 and has been enjoyed by members of our vendor's family for over 40 years, however, we do not have much in the way of history
It appears to be essentially original, although has been well retrimmed in the past, and has enjoyed a couple of coats of Old English White (Ivory was the factory colour)
Our vendor believes that the indicated mileage of 25, 441 could well be correct and confirmed that whilst in the family's ownership for four decades it has been lovingly looked after and lightly used
It's supplied with an original Operation Manual, V5C, current MOT and further documentation
We encourage your viewing of this quintessential fifties classic at our NEC sale
