The car is in excellent condition and is amazing value:-
4. 2 litre V8 engine (petrol)
Quattro four-wheel-drive.
Automatic gearbox (4 speed).
Registration: presently has a cherished number A8 EFM (originally S462AFC), the price is without the cherished number.
Mileage: 126, 000 (these engines will easily do 300, 000 plus miles), the engine is very smooth and quiet, petrol consumption when motorway cruising is very good (the fuel computer shows 55mpg at 60mph).
First registered 5 October 1998.
Colour: Aubergine (opalescent) (Red).
MOT up to 14 March, 2009.

new brake discs and pads fitted on all 4 wheels; Mintex (note: this car has Lucas calipers fitted, 4 pads per wheel)
new ABS sensors fitted on both front wheels.
new transmission oil seal and new flange fitted.
drainage holes in side channels below windscreen cleaned out.
new driver's side outer CV boot fitted and grease repacked.
16 Dec 2005 (118, 148 miles):-
new air-filter element.
new ribbed V-belt.
new timing/ toothed camshaft belt and idler/ damper and tensioner bearings.
new speedometer sensor.
new top coolant/ water hose.
2 oil breather hoses.
11 Nov 2005 (116, 839 miles):-
brake fluid renewed.
front suspension overhauled; both front lower wishbones/ ball joints + one upper arm.
oil change service (new filter + 8 litres semi-synthetic 10/ 40 oil) including ACP oil flush treatment.
new air-filter + 2 pollen filters + fuel filter.
Feb/ March 2005 (100, 070 miles):-
oil change service (new filter + 8 litres semi-synthetic 10/ 40 oil).
one new breather hose.
new air-filter.
Service history booklet has 8/ 9 stamps
Future servicing:-
Oil will need changing at 126, 839 miles
Gearbox oil and filter should also be changed.
New spark plugs may be worthwhile, although the engine runs very smoothly; new ones recommended every 40, 000 miles.
Faults:-
The memory on the driver's seat doesn't accept input at present (I'm not sure why), but the electrical adjustment controls all work well.
The electric motor doesn't raise the passenger headrest (according to - details above this is easy to fix).
There is a small crack in the plastic of the passenger side wing mirror, which needs sealing.
The driver's side-mirror has a yellow tint, the tint has faded around the edges; the glass could be replaced.
There are of course some small scratches and 'dings' (as they seem to be called) low down around the bodywork, but these are not noticeable without close inspection, the overall appearance is very attractive.
