Vehicle that appears to have "just left the showroom" with very clean interior and exterior presentation, showing no signs of age.
Like any 45-year-old car, it does have certain points of fragility "to monitor", the need for attention depending essentially on the intensity of intended use.
For classic car use (low mileage, less than 3, 000 km/ year): no immediate costs anticipated for 1 to 3 years.
=> this is my situation... it's garaged under cover and only driven to maintain the mechanics.
For daily or weekly use (15, 000 km/ year or more), monitor the following:
* old tyres but with good tread depth to replace for better grip
* monitor brake pad and disc wear
* monitor clutch wear, which is original
Technical specification:
M115. 954 engine, 4-cylinder 2. 3L, 109 bhp DIN, original.
4-speed automatic gearbox, original.
Stromberg 175CD carburettor with membrane and constant depression.
Small series at Mercedes as approximately 10, 000 230C examples (carburetted) were produced in total.
IT IS NOT FUEL INJECTION, otherwise it would be named "230CE" with an "E" (Einspritzung) after the "C" (Coupedach)!
Original manual gearbox.
Original clutch.
Tow hook with original Mercedes dealer electrical wiring.
OPTION codes:
861G: Silver green (silbergrün): silver green
466: Central locking
593: Heat-reflective glazing with tinted windscreen band and laminated rear window
629: France specification
636: Removal of warning triangle
Mixed upholstery:
- leather-look edging
- central grey/ black tartan trim
Original upholstery in perfect condition.
History:
Family car, rural use, where "DIY" has been the approach
=> which is one of the pleasures of classic car ownership, knowing and maintaining your own mechanics.
=> All maintenance up to date:
- initially carried out by professionals whilst relevant expertise was active.
- for the past few years carried out by myself, in perfect accordance with the manufacturer's documentation which I have in full.
Origin:
Mercedes dealership Limoges from 1978.
Acquired by my father as a second-hand purchase in 1982 and transferred to my name in 2006.
Regularly driven on short local journeys only in fine weather.
This car has not seen water, mud or snow for several years.
Cleaned "by hand + spray" after each outing: no pressure washer or water jet...
=> no rust.
Spare parts included:
I will be absolutely firm on spare parts, which will only be sold after the vehicle, and "separately"!
- one PIERBURG 175CD carburettor identical to the one on the vehicle + another for spares.
- stock of new parts: filters, carburettor gaskets, Bosch spark plugs, belts, ...
- some used parts: windscreen, steel wheels, hub caps to repaint, W123 steering box, wing mirrors, headlights, ...
Here then is a complete package for an enthusiast of the marque and its most iconic and robust model: the W123.
