I am sadly selling my Junior after six years of ownership. This is an great car which has been improved and maintained regardless of cost and is now in excellent condition. The car was originally restored in 2000 and altered to the GTA style including Harvey Bailey fast road suspension, GTA exhaust system, Monza fuel cap and GTA Corsa wheels. The 1300 engine was replaced with a 1962cc Nord engine. Since my purchase in 2008, I have had the following substantial work carried out:-
1. Engine rebuild with new liners, bearings, cylinder head ported, new high competition pistons fitted, flywheel lightened (all 2010/ 11).
2. New paintwork (2010).
3. Replacement refurbished gearbox.
4. New electronic ignition.
5. New secondary electric fan.
6. Oil pump replaced.
7. New starter motor.
8. New replacement GTA racing wheels fitted with Avon CR6ZZ competition tyres (good tread depth still left).
9. New fitted carpets.
10. Engine hoses replaced.
11. New wiper motor.
12. Calipers, discs and pads replaced in last 3, 500 miles.
13. New fuel pump.
14. New replacement lockable Monza fuel cap.
15. Propshaft refurbished.
16. Bodywork restoration.
17. New air horn.
18. New Momo steering wheel.
19. Replacement of front engine cover requiring the engine to be taken out. The cylinder head was also machined and a new Spesso competition head gasket fitted (September 2014).
20. Oil change and new oil filter in last 300 miles.
21. New period Corbeau seats fitted with Willans four point harnesses.
22. New door handles.
All the above work has been carried out by Alfa specialist, Alex Jupe Motorsport. The twin carburettors have been set up by Airey Tuning Co and they measured the engine power at 170bhp. The paintwork is in good condition.
The car is road tax exempt and the MOT expires in May 2015. There is a service history back to 1980.
Also included in the sale are the original front seats and the wood steering wheel plus an ‘as new’ outside cover.
This is an exciting car to drive on the road or track with the instant response from the lively engine, the sound from the GTA exhaust and the intuitive feedback from the suspension set up. A car which is fettled and ready to use.
