For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible. These Cobras also known as the Terminator Cobras are not to be messed with. These are very serious machines capable of 12 second 1/ 4 mile times right from the factory. This one has only 17, 987 miles and is truly drop dead gorgeous in White with a Black power soft top and a two-toned gray interior with suede and leather seating surfaces. Power comes from a supercharged 32 valve V8 that has been grossly underrated at 390 horsepower. These engines were hand built and power varied quite a bit from enge to engine. Most of them produced more than 400 horsepower and some in the 450 horsepower range. Back that up by a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission and an independent rear suspension and you've got a mean machine ready for the drag strip or the road course. Most the of Cobras from this era have been modified and driven hard. This is example has very low mileage and is only modified by a Magna Flow stainless steel exhaust system. This makes a great sound and frees up some ponies by using a more free flowing set of mufflers. This Cobra also came stock with Brembo brakes and Bilstein shock absorbers. Standard equipment included the usual options like ABS, Traction control, Power seats and a Mach Stereo system. The exterior only has a few Cobra giveaways; 1st there are the 17-inch aluminum wheels, brake scoops incorporated into the front bumper, a lip style rear spoiler, some Cobra badges and a unique hood to vent some of the hot air coming from the blower. The Terminator Cobra was only produced in 2003 and 2004. Some comparisons have shown these to outrun the newer GT500.
