EXTERIOR
The aggressive lines of this rare modern classic, infamous for its compact aggression, are highlighted perfectly by the glowing Valencia bodywork. With a deep shine to the orange metallic paint, which looks stunning under the studio lights, there is an emphasis on the large wheel arches, multiple vent air scooped front bumper and the wide but compact nature of this muscular car.
Two minor chips have been touched in on the bonnet with really very little else to report – commendable previous ownership has ensured the car presents consistently well alongside a good specification from the factory.
INTERIOR
The black Boston leather is in excellent condition and remains soft and supple, while still retaining the smell of a new car. The cabin is finished with Kyalami orange stitching that adds definition to the seats and interior. Alcantara adorns the trim enhancing the motorsport theme, with further stitching to the instrument shroud, door cards, dashboard, gear gaiter and handbrake.
The leather steering wheel retains its deep textured appearance while the M badged dials are neatly tucked behind. Sat Nav and a multi media system are fitted linked to the optional Harman Kardon speakers which includes digital radio AUX inputs and access to BMW online portal.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The straight 6 turbo offers elastic performance across the rev range, potent and punchy down low and happy to rev-out when required. The engine is in excellent health with a full BMW service history, whilst further piece of mind is assured with a balance of BMW warranty until October of 2017.
The 6 speed manual transmission is a joy to use and a rare sight in today’s cars – a slick and precise throw with excellent pedal position is the life blood of M Power.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The Y spoke 358N 19 inch alloys are in pristine condition wrapped in nearly new Michelin SuperSport rubber – the ultimate contact patch for both wet and dry conditions.
Brakes are in good shape displaying plenty of pad / disc life. There is no illustration of hard / excessive use or pad build up in the cross drilled openings.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by BMW Cooper Sunderland and first registered in February of 2011 onto a ’61 plate, the car returned to the supplying dealer for the correct running in service at 961 miles.
