BSK 940 represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a fully rally prepared 1961 Austin Healey 3000 MKII with 30 years of highly successful campaign winning provenance (Monte Carlo 1st in Class, multiple Isle of Man rally winner as well as competitive positioning in many other events) with engine build and chassis optimization by Denis Welch. The car has recently been restored and refreshed with only light road usage since.
The full restoration was completed in 2015 from a totally stripped shell in with shell itself and all panels removed and chemically dipped to remove contaminates and the panels themselves reworked to remove imperfections without the need for filler. Finished in Jaguar Flag Blue Metallic, excellent photographic and paper documentation of the restoration is present. The vehicle remains beautifully presented throughout.
The car is an all aluminum body and comprehensively strengthened chassis built car, with engine, drivetrain and suspension fully prepared by Denis Welch to a full and highly competitive specification with straight cut center change gearbox with competition overdrive and limited slip differential. The car has full competition suspension and dual circuit disc brakes all round. FIA prepared papers and RAC special stage log book with plumbed in fire extinguisher, electrical cut off, safety fuel cell, sump guard, approved roll cage and harnesses.
Visually the car is correctly prepared to emulate original works rally cars such as URX 727 as it features the correct works wing vents, works shroud fresh air vent, an original works hardtop, works grille, twin front spotlamps and rear spotlamp (all period correct Lucas units) and additional Webber access panel.
Inside the Recaro buckets are unmarked as is the white paintwork and roll cage, extra interior lighting is fitted as are driver/ passenger headsets and the Halda rally instruments remain fully functional with the interior itself highly ergonomic and easy to use. The gearbox tunnel is a competition aluminum4 quick removal item.
The car is supplied with MOT, heritage certificate, our 100-point inspection and documentation of victories, events entries and previous rally build is present.
