1971 (tax exempt) Austin Mini Custom 1275. This is a unique and very special custom mini which has been created to a very high standard. In 1995 the original 1971 mini was involved in an accident and was beyond economical repair so was written off. In 1996 it was rebuilt using a new bodyshell and was also treated to a genuine Lamm body kit as fitted to the mini convertibles. The Lamm kit is a very high quality solid kit and fits correctly enhancing the classic mini look. It was also fitted with a 1275 cc engine, air conditioning, electric sunroof, electric windows, central locking with solenoid push button door release! The interior has genuine Recaro seats with matching rear seats and door cards. A walnut dash board was added plus walnut door capping's with matching centre console. To finish off the look it has 6 by 13 inch Superlight wheels and a great sounding stainless steel exhaust system. The brakes are from a Metro turbo with 4 pot callipers and Mintex pads. It also has adjustable height and firmness suspension so the ride can be tailored to your preferred comfort / look. The end result is stunning and it drives very well. It has a modern final drive to is very comfortable at speed and happy on the motorway. This mini was created by an experienced mini enthusiast who has covered just 6200 miles over the last 21 years and has always been garaged when not in use. It has been a mini Magazine feature car and has a nice history file covering the last 21 years. Due to this very low mileage on the new bodyshell the body condition is immaculate. It has been sold due to the past owner retiring and no longer going to the mini shows. It was very hot today and the air conditioning was a pleasure to use!
