RetroMarques is pleased to offer for sale on behalf of the owner: Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce ‘VYO 948S’
A really nice Alfa Spider in the unusual Verde Inglese (English Green) 219. First registered in 1978 she was initially purchased by the Quad Acoustical Co (the British hi-fi company) for its then owner Peter Walker. Mr Walker left the company on retirement in 1988 and the Spider went with him, remaining in his ownership for another 11 years until 1999. Only a 4 owners have followed before purchase by the present AROC member and Spider enthusiast in April 2015.

New door mirrors, door handles/ locks & check straps
Speedo overhaul and calibration
New Momo Vega wheels (original Cromodoro Turbino x5 remain with the car, refurb in 2009)
New Pioneer stereo/ CD/ Bluetooth, new wind deflector
As can be seen a really well-maintained Spider which has systematically been improved in the present ownership and with much of the recent work carried out by ourselves. The drive is testament to that, starting easily with very good oil pressure and low/ normal water temperature. She’s brisk on the road with nice positive steering, lovely gearbox with no synchro problems, no rattles or looseness and strong brakes – just as a good Spider should be!
‘VYO’ is MOT’d to March 2018 and is showing a mileage of 51, 360, indeed it is believed this may be original. A good history file accompanies the car and includes the original Instruction Book.
In summary a Spider which is attractive yet rare in English Green and which has been both improved and well-maintained in recent ownership. A joy to drive yet practical too with a hood that works and a decent boot for touring, the Spiders are in demand and values are rising accordingly. ‘VYO’ offers an opportunity to purchase a very nice Spider with much spent already and very little left to do!
