Description
The model we are presenting was built by Matter Motorsport at the end of 1994. Its chassis number 57k03 indicates that it was the third of the 35 cars produced by Matter. This Clio Maxi was entered in the French Rally Championship in 1995 by Team Diac, the manufacturer’s official team, and entrusted to the drivers Philippe Bugalski and Jean Ragnotti. It was then sold to Renault Portugal and competed in three rallies (Rallye Rota do Sol, Rali Casinos do Algarve et Rallye Sport/ Dao Lafoes), driven by Filipe Pinto. In 2002, the car was bought by Charly Carcreff, the racing driver and builder of the Scora cars. On its return to France, it took part in 17 rallies until 2003, in the hands of Frédéric Anne. It was only in 2016 that this Clio Maxi, formerly part of Renault’s official team, was acquired by its current owner, who had it completely repainted. The car has been serviced prior to sale: the timing belt has been replaced and all the fluids (engine, gearbox and brakes) changed. It also comes with two sets of stickers marked Bugalski/ Ragnotti/ Tour de Corse, as a reminder that this Clio Maxi was driven by the most distinguished French rally drivers.
This car will be sold during the auction car sale organized by Claude AGUTTES Auction during the event of les Grandes Heures Automobiles, which will take place in Montlhéry, France, on 23rd September 2017. Please contact us for any further details.
