I am selling my mica blue 1989 Gran Finale which I have owned since 2009 and which I believe to be one of the best in the country. It has covered just 15700 miles since new (it had just over 6000 miles on the clock when I bought it). The car is totally rust free, has only been driven in the dry and is kept in a dehumidified garage. It is in excellent original condition all round, has never been resprayed, has many upgrades as detailed below and has been maintained with absolutely no expense spared. It drives beautifully and pulls hard in all gears. Everything works as it should.
BODY- No rust anywhere. Very good paintwork which comes up like new after a good wax treatment. Has a barely visible mark on the bonnet which would easily buff out and a nick on the spoiler which was there when I bought it. Freshly waxed it looks superb and is a real head turner.
WHEELS- good condition for age although if I was keeping the car I would have them refurbished to new condition. Spare wheel is brand new and has never been used. Pirelli tyres all round with plenty of tread.
INTERIOR- pretty much as new. No rips, no tears, nothing worn. The alcantara seats are in as new condition with no wear which is extremely rare. They are impossible to replace. I have always had seat covers on them except when attending car shows. Original Grundig radio cassette with upgraded Alpine speakers. Carpets perfect. Boot and bonnet space as new with no rust anywhere.
COOLING- radiator recored in 2015. Twin Kenlowe fans fitted with additional manual switch in the cabin. With the recored radiator the fans rarely need to come on except in hot weather or traffic. Correct paraflu coolant.
EXHAUST- Full CSC sports exhaust system fitted 5 years ago. 4 into 1 manifold and sport back box which is pretty raucous! You can certainly hear it coming.
ENGINE- My head gasket blew in 2015 and I decided to have the engine completely rebuilt. Block and head professionally skimmed, rebored with oversize forged pistons fitted raising the cc to 1518, lightened and balanced bottom end, polished crankshaft, polished cylinder head ports, balanced flywheel, new water pump, new oil pump, new alternator, all cooling hoses replaced, fuel lines replaced, denso iridium sparkplugs, k & n air filter, engine block blasted and painted. Miller redline gearbox oil.
OTHER MODS- Lumenition electronic ignition fitted, steel braided brake hoses, carb rebuilt with original Weber kit, fully rustproofed underneath.
I have never got round to taking the car to a rolling road but my mechanic thinks it's probably approaching 100bhp with all the mods. All work to my car carried out by top Italian sports car specialists 'DTR European sportscars' in Coulsdon South. Please look at their website. MOT until June 2018. Never had any advisories.
DOCUMENTATION- All MOT's since I've owned it. It was in storage for some 12 years when I bought it so no MOT's for that period. Original sale invoice and pre delivery inspection report, newspaper articles, original stickers on car, getting on for 10k worth of bills in my ownership. Spare keys.
I have been as honest and full as possible in my description. If you're looking for a very good original condition X19 with low mileage then this car fits the bill. I am selling it because I haven't really used it in 2 years and I want my garage back. I've had my fun with it and am sure it will provide yhe new owner with many more years of good times.
