Just arrived, and i couldn’t resist a run out in todays sunshine !
This is a very late BMW R80, that started life as an RT, and has been converted to “S’ spec by the last owner. Many riders find the original RT fairing a little cumbersome, and i think that the S style fairing really suites the boxers. (I run a similar set up on my own R100).
The history file bears witness to a thorough maintenance schedule for the bike over the years, with invoices from BMW main dealer, Scriminger, Motorworks, Motobins, etc. The engine is whisper quiet, with oil and chargelights extinguishing as they should, and non of the oft seen exhaust smoke on start up. Equally, the gearbox (which invoices show has been replaced) is ultra smooth for a boxer. Clutch action is impressively light.
Tyres are almost new, and are a matching pair of Michelin Pilot Active’s. Brakes on these late monoshock Boxers are the well proven Brembo’s, and this bike has the twin front disc set up.
The bike carries an impressive list of extras, including a full Keihan stainless steel exhaust system, complete with centre box delete and twin balance pipes, Motobins “S” style fairing, complete with operational auxiliary clocks, factory luggage, crash bars, Cree style daytime running lights, hand guards, fork gators, etc.
The bike has only covered a documented 48k miles from new, and is ready to do anything you could ask of it. Mileage may rise slightly if this nice weather continues, but even at this price, we’ll consider YOUR classic in part exchange. Discounted delivery to anywhere in the country possible.
