Stalled restoration project with a significant amount of work and expenditure already undertaken including engine and gearbox rebuild plus quality panels.
Built 17th December 1956 at the Longbridge factory, this is a very early and desirable 100/ 6 BN4, presented very complete and ready for a straightforward and easy restoration. The car has been imported from Virginia, USA with all duties paid and is currently being UK registered to be provided to the buyer with a UK V5 document.
New panels are provided and installed on the car (including floors, boot floor, sills and more) are KAS-Kilmartin panels sourced from Australia. These panels would have been purchased at significant additional expense over those typically used and are widely acknowledged as some of the best if not the best available for Austin Healey restoration today. The car is now presented in black primer but would require some further bodywork to finish. The wings and shrouds are all believed to be original to the car and very good.
Mechanically, the engine, gearbox and overdrive have been fully rebuilt at British Motor Works of New York and the carburettors sent of separately to be completely re-worked. A new complete stainless exhaust system is provided with the car and a new fuel tank.
A new interior is provided, with seats reupholstered with two new seat foams. The door cards are ready and re-upholstered, new red carpet and extra red vinyl are included as well as a ‘concours grade’ black boot liner.
Many new brightwork items as well as all-new lighting is provided, the original side screens are present as are the bumpers which may need some additional work.
The car is provided with all import documentation, a heritage certificate of authenticity, title certificate, UK V5, a photo of the original purchasing owner and more.
