Description

The production of the Mini Clubman and 1275 GT began in 1969.

The 1275 GT was scheduled as a replacement for the Mini Cooper 998cc, but the Mini Cooper S of 1, 275cc continued alongside the 1275 GT for two years until 1971.

In 1971, the Mini Cooper S of 1, 275 cc was discontinued in the UK, leaving the Mini 1275 GT as the only Mini sports car for sale for the rest of the decade.

It was the first Mini to be equipped with original tachometer. It came with a 'close-ratio' gearbox and 10-inch 'Rostyle' wheels that hid brake pads identical to the 7. 5-inch Cooper S, replaced in 1974 with 12-inch wheels.

The Clubman and 1275 GT offered better safety in case of collision, was better equipped and had better access to the engine safe.

The performance of the 1275 GT was quite good at the time, reaching 100 km / h in 12. 9 seconds, however as it was aerodynamically inferior to the original 1959 design, it required some effort to reach the maximum speed of 140 km / h, falling short performance of the Mini Cooper S.

This Mini 1275 GT is an original Portuguese license plate car and is in very good general condition.
