This vehicle was 1 of 3 delivered new to Australia for exclusive use of the Australian government; in particular the Governor General. In the 1980s, it was retired from its government duties and auctioned to a Rolls Royce collector. It is completely original, and presents in excellent condition for its age. The paintwork shows only minor blemishes, and the interior has been retrimmed beautifully to factory specification. While some minor rust points need attention, this car could be brought to outstanding condition with little effort. It’s original 6. 2L V8 is paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, providing the smooth and comfortable ride these luxurious cars are so well known for.
1968 saw the launch of the world’s most expensive production car in history, the Rolls Royce Phantom VI. In keeping with their tradition, Rolls Royce built only the engine and chassis before sending them off to their legendary coach building partners Mulliner Park-Ward.
With only 374 units produced from a period of 1968-1990, this vehicle was designed with Monarchs and other heads of state in mind. This vehicle came standard with every creature comfort available including a middle row of fold away jump seats, an elongated wheel base for maximum leg room and centre dividing window. With such rich history, and as the transportation of choice for notable names such as Queen Elizabeth II, the Phantom VI has become extremely collectable.
Accompanying this Phantom VI is a large history file detailing ownership and maintenance, as well as the original tool kit. In excellent running order and in such original condition, this vehicle is ready to be driven from the showroom floor and would complement any collection.
