The Lotus M100 Elan was launched in August 1989, reviving the Elan nameplate after 14 years. A two-seater convertible sports car with front-wheel drive, designed in-house by Lotus, it featured an engine and manual transmission supplied by Isuzu,[55] and was built with the development and testing resources of General Motors. Around £35 million (about $55 million) was invested in its development,[56] more than any other car in Lotus history. Its design, featuring a fibreglass composite body over a rigid steel backbone chassis, was true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's original philosophy of achieving performance through low weight, and the name "Elan" connected the car with its 1960s ancestor.
This particular car from 1991 is finished in Pacific Blue Metallic with grey leather interior. To say this car is immaculate would be a huge understatement. Its in simply stunning condition inside and out. The paintwork is the best I’ve ever seen on a Lotus. The wheels look to have been recently refurbished and the whole car is just stunning.
Showing 72000 miles with 5 owners in total, the car is a sheer joy to behold. The Service history goes right back to its first service in 1991, so it shows the car has had excellent maintenance all of its life.
