The Appeal
The C4 was a very Citroen sort of car. It was built to bridge the gap between a commercial vehicle and family transport, giving France’s innumerable artisans a bread van or butcher’s van during the week and a family wagon at the weekend. The C4G arrived in 1932 and with it the firm’s clever ‘Moteur Flottant’ (MFP) ‘floating power’ engine mount system. This system of flexible blocks reduced engine vibration, making the C4G more comfortable for occupants.
The seller of this beautiful 1932 C4G MFP restored it five years ago, a project that was both comprehensive and undertaken with an expert eye for detail. Enthusiasts will note the retrimmed cabin, featuring NOS interior trim. The work included removing the body and renovating the chassis and fitting new tyres, clutch, steering box, refurbished dynamo and record radiator. The engine has been inspected and fitted with new piston rings, a head gasket, and the car has been rewired. Painted in fetching two-tone black and Royal blue, it is a really smart example of these very rare cars.
The vendor says:
