The Appeal

Porsche's transaxle sports cars are undergoing a resurgence in popularity, and it's easy to see why. The 924S in particular is light, beautifully balanced, and features the 2.5-litre 160bhp engine from its 944 sibling. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, and that characteristic rear-mounted transaxle layout, the 924S is wonderful to drive.

This 1988 example, finished in Nautic Blue, has been comprehensively restored over the past five years under the care of two committed Porsche 924 Owners Club members. The previous owner, the late Barrie Evans, won 'Best S' with the car at a club event, and the current owner, the club's Chairman, has continued to devote considerable attention to it. The bodywork has been fully resprayed in its original colour, and the car has been professionally rustproofed. Inside, the cabin has been completely reupholstered in Madras Blue 911 fabric with Porsche sports seats, presenting a well-coordinated interior.

Mechanically, the car has received a raft of considered upgrades spanning the engine, suspension, and exhaust, and it has been regularly serviced and maintained. Garage kept throughout and shown at the NEC on multiple occasions, it comes with the original service book and a detailed history file.
