Description

Land Rover 109” Series 2A
VIN 161 9000 43 Historic Vehicle Tax Exempt
2495 C. C. Engine.
TDI four-speed manual with overdrive

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a fully rebuilt and exceptionally well-specified and maintained historic Series vehicle, with an iconic number plate. As with all Land Rovers, it can be customised to suit the new owner’s requirements. Because of the power steering this is a vehicle which offers great manoeuverability rather than having the original turning circle of a small house. Despite the modifications, the front doors of this Land Rover still leak.

Two front seats with centre cubby box, two rear benches with lap belts and harnesses, bed base in rear allowing for internal mattress and concealed storage. Sandwich Roof and full galvanised roof rack with access ladder.

HISTORY
Originally RAF Vehicle. Date of first civilian registration 01/ 04/ 1966
Vehicle acquired 10/ 12/ 2000 (4 previous owners)

Fully rebuilt by Liveridge British 4x4 (Land Rover specialists Earlswood) in 2008

27, 000 on-road miles since rebuild. All MOTs since the rebuild showing genuine low mileage. The vehicle had a SORN Declaration between 2000 and 2008

Maintained and MOTd by Liveridge 4x4, then by their successors Astwood Bank Land Rovers Redditch, and in the last two years by Mansfield 4 x 4 Bury St Edmunds.
SPECIFICATION
Rebuild specification included:

 Full length galvanised chassis
 Parabolic springs
 Servo brakes
Full safari sandwich roof and galvanised roof rack
 Overdrive
 Locking wheel nuts

Further additions:

Power steering kit added by Astwood 4 x 4 (December 2019)

Stainless steel exhaust system added by DOT Worx Risby Bury St Edmunds (December 2021)MAINTENANCE AND CONDITION
This vehicle has been maintained irrespective of cost. It has never been taken off road by me. Full and detailed service history including all MOT advisories since the rebuild. The driver's door has just been replaced, but remains in primed paint.

Latest service, repairs and maintenance (November 2022) included new clutch and clutch assembly, front cover gasket, replacement timing belt. Total £3000

Chassis, exhaust, steering, tyres and engine are all in excellent condition. Paint work fair but would benefit from TLC. I specified in the rebuild that a sleeping platform should be created behind the front seats. This is removable to access the rear benches, but provides concealed storage beneath.

Next MOT: 09/ 12/ 2024

UK-registered cars and motorbikes on Car & Classic are run through an online HPI check. On the HPI report, this vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft and has no finance owing.
