The SII and the SIIA are very difficult to distinguish. There were some minor cosmetic changes. Body configurations available from the factory ranged from short wheelbase soft-top to the top of the line five door station wagon. A 2. 25-litre diesel was added to the engine line, which after 1967 included a 2. 6-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine for the long-wheelbase models, which also had servo-assisted brakes.
This Land Rover Series 2A LWB was originally registered in Guildford in 1966 and as far as we know never been out of Surrey. Originally commissioned as a breakdown truck, there looks to have been a crane fitted at some point to the rear as well as beacons to the roof.
The petrol 2. 25 engine runs very well, and is genuinely the nicest we have heard. It has good oil pressure and no frost damage.
The Land Rover has been stood for a while, it does have brakes, clutch and gears it does drive but would recommend some recommissioning/ check over before any maiden voyage.
The chassis and bulkhead on the whole are very solid, there are some areas which will need attention, which we have tried to capture in the walk around video.
The 2A is very much a recommissioning project, that with a few weekends work could turn the vehicle around, we do have some paperwork including the current V5.
Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.
We are happy to consider part exchange. Nationwide delivery available.
