Beschreibung
Designed and built by Autotune in 1983 the Aristocat is a replica ‘within the spirit’ of the famous Jaguar XK Series of Sports Cars. Built with Jaguars written permission, the Aristocat was designed as a kit form classic which amateur enthusiasts could build at home using ‘donor’ components from any of the Jaguar XJ6, XJS or XJ12 models, 1968 through 1996. The Aristocat blends classic looks with modern mechanical components to produce a very capable vehicle; the original prototype being timed by a member of the media at 0-60 MPH in six seconds and a top speed of over 150 MPH.
About this car:
Built in 2002 with a 1979 XJ6 Series2 4. 2L manual box with overdrive on 3rd and 4th. . All components are from the donor car. The car was built with triple HD8 carburettors (from a 1966 mk10 Jaguar). It was IVA tested July 2003. In July 2021 the car was registered as a Historic Vehicle and therefore is Tax and MOT exempt. New V5 issued stating “Aristocat Sports” so registered correctly. The vehicle has been detailed with Jaguar badges (leaping Jaguar, XK 140 badges etc) as can be seen in the photos. There is numerous details in the files regards build, parts purchased, XJ6 manuals, build manual etc during the time the vehicle has been in the hands of the 3 previous owners. Recent work completed by myself:
• Handbrake pads changed
• Radiator serviced
• New hoses where applicable
• New water pump
• New Alternator fitted
• MOT advisories dealt withPurchased the car as having hired a "real one" thought this was the closest I would get to owning one. It drives nicely and is a fun car to own. It attracts a lot of attention as it is a close as you can get to the real thing.
