This is my 1. 8GTI (AUM) preferred by many aficionados to the 2. 0GTI, this model is one to watch as it becoming collectable.
In all a straight and honest car that has been largely unmodified apart from the previous owner replacing the front and rear skirts with that of the Anniversary model. With original stereo system (full working order) and very clean interior its a nice place to be in!
There is a small cigarette burn in the seat bolster from previous owner but not really noticeable. I had the interior professionally steam cleaned last month.
Exterior, the Mk4 was known for certain areas rusting , thank fully on this car it is contained to the passenger door frame by the wing mirror and a small bubble underneath the boot handle.
Rear passenger side corner bumper has been resprayed at some point.
Bonnet has some age related marks and stone chips
front skirt has small crack on drivers side which literally happened last week on a glorious London speed bump..
The black metallic paintwork still comes up with a deep shine after a good wax.
I am the 5th owner , the 3rd and 4th were mother & son and between them owned the car for 11 years.
The drive is good, turbo kicks in as it should and the car pulls well for 21 years old, you couldn't tell it has this mileage but there again i have seen these with 300k on the clock and still going strong.
The alternative is any offers below and the car will be sold as is.
I am not a mechanic or an expert but in my opinion its a lovely car , i bought this to hold on to for a few years as values are going up but have just lost my storage.
