I bought this motorcycle new in August 1995 and have sold it twice and bought it back twice! Between those other owners is has only done an additional 300 miles. It has been regularly serviced and stored in a dehumidified garage and probably has only been out in the rain 10-12 times in its 28-years. I have a lot of documentation on the bike and also have the original sales invoice.
It looks in fantastic condition and must be one of the lowest mileage K1100's currently for sale.
I bought it back as I simply could not find a touring bike that gave the same level of weather protection, quietness and comfort as the K1100.
It has ABS2, an electric screen (new one recently fitted) which when raised only 1" provides an almost silent riding experience where wind noise and buffeting disappears. It has heated grips, engine crash bars with spot lights and a huge top box. The radio does not seem to work anymore but I did find it slightly pointless as was the cigarette lighter!
It has a huge top box but the reality is that it looks and rides better without it and it is removeable in just seconds.
The bike is being sold with a fresh MOT until 23/ 6/ 24 with no advisories. This bike at the time of its purchase was BMW's fastest and most expensive motorcycle and even today represents a great riding experience where it can sit all day at a good pace and still return a great mpg. The best thing of course is the weather protection, quietness and comfort. It simply remains a delight to ride.
