Description

Originally a Californian car from new, restored in 2004 (at a cost in excess of $20, 000) and imported in 2015, my modified CJ5 Jeep, (rarer, shorter, and wider than the more common CJ7) is regrettably up for sale.

It has the factory fitted AMC 5 litre (304) V8 with a 3 speed all synchro manual box, power steering and disc brakes all round. It had a new clutch 2 years ago, very few miles since.

The engine has Edelbrock performance enhancements. Specific details of these and other modifications are noted in the photos, (it has different tyres now, still 33" x 12. 5").

It’s done very few miles since restoration and import (12. 5k) and is in good condition. Incredibly solid and paint almost unmarked. The inside of the all metal tub is sprayed with ‘Line X’ to protect. There is some wear to the drivers seat / shoulder bolster as shown. Rear bench seat is belted too.

I reckon it could be a show car with a bit of tlc and fettling, (its not been used regularly since importing so would enjoy tuning), certainly it has enormous stature/ presence. See photo of it next to my Vivaro to gauge its size!!

I purchased it relatively recently off of a very good friend (all previous owners are known since import), so that he could buy a 68’ Camaro, only to get it home and find it’s too tall to fit in my garage [top of roll cage is about 6ft 6in high], even with the tyres deflated and the roller door off. So it’s up for sale as it’s only got a bikini top due to the full roll cage and way too nice to put under a tarpaulin.

It comes with a full size spare wheel and rear carrier / hanger, neither currently fitted.

I’d consider a classic car in part exchange as long as it’d fit in my garage!

Thanks for looking. A stunning off road / road racer with enormous presence. Not for the faint hearted driver as it’s fast (relative), noisy and a bit of a beast. Popping to the pub, sharing at a show, or climbing a few rocks, it’s an affordable mid 70’s V8 piece of muscle.
