I enjoy collecting vintage bikes in any form and condition and restore them to their former glory. I thoroughly enjoy the process. Occasionally, when the collection gets too big I sell some so I can keep going with my hobby.
This Honda CB550k was under a serious restoration process inclusive of:
- all electrics redone (new main wire harness, new handlebar switches left and right, new signals)
- new ignition switch (same key for seat lock) + new regulator rectifier + new starter solenoid + flasher relay
- carbs completely rebuild, rejetted and synchronized. New airpods.
- brand new AGM motobat battery
- new oil pump; all engine seals replaced. No oil leaks at all.
- valve clearance adjusted
- timind adjusted
- original tank repainted (no rust inside or out; no dents) + new tank fuel cap and new petcock
- new side covers; new badges; new trims for tank and seat (original seat)
- new exhaust Akrapovich 4in1
- new grips (motogadget) and end bar mirrors
- completely serviced (all fluids)
- no rust on the bike
Starts immediately (starter or kickstarter) and runs at 1200rpm idle. It is a joy to ride. Clean FL title in my name. This is a vintage bike that is as good as it was when exiting the factory. A true classic for an authentic experience. Not to mention that the value of such bikes will further improve in time.
