1997 Ford Probe 24V Coupe, top of the range 2. 5 V6 manual, final year of production with special alloy wheels. In rare and beautiful Boysenberry Blue metallic (purple), which was the launch colour. Excellent condition for year. Mechanically this is 100% Mazda MX-6, but with far superior American styling and USA build – it has nothing mechanically to do with any UK Ford. Extremely nice to drive with creamy-smooth and very reliable Mazda 24V V6 engine. It's a very eye-catching car – even more so in its distinctive and intense purple colour!The car has four recently refurbished alloy wheels, front brake discs and pads, plus front drop links, anti-roll bar bushes, and track rod ends – and recent engine oil and filter change, new air filter, coolant change, power steering fluid change, brake fluid change and new rear tailgate struts. It has a comprehensive service history.
The bodywork is in great condition for the year, with very good paint all round and just one tiny 5p-sized bubble on the n/ s/ r wheel arch, that was too hard to photograph and so isn't shown. No trolley dents or nasty scratches. Everything works including the pop-up headlights and electric sunroof. Original Ford stereo radio/ cassette included, but Sony CD is fitted. Interior is excellent too, with soft and supple full black perforated leather. Cover on driver's seat to protect it.
The engine is very quiet and pulls hard, with no smoke or roughness. Gorgeously silky – it makes my BMW 325i (E92) engine seem rough! The car pulls strongly, drives and stops straight, and handles surprisingly well. A very refined car for the mid 1990s and yet still lots of fun to drive.
