Description
This is a fantastic Morris Traveller uprated to give it more power while retaining its character.
I bought this car in November 2018 because I loved the colour and it had been fitted with a new ash frame about 5 years previously. It was nice and solid but the paintwork wasn't up to much and mechanically it was pretty tired, struggling to keep up with HGV's on the motorway.
As part of the full restoration I sourced a 1, 275cc (often refered to as the 1300) A series engine from an MG Midget and had it completely rebuilt by a mechanic friend of mine who races historic Minis - a list of other parts and modifications are below.
The car has been garaged since the restoration and has covered around 5, 000 miles during which time we ironed out all of the wrinkles.
As you can see the car in in lovely condition and has several additional modifications which make it much easier to live with in the modern day and age - electrically heated front and rear windows, three point inertia seat belt, 12v AUX socket etc. It has loads more power now, especially in the mid range. All of the seat foams were replaced in the process of retrimming the interior so it is nice and comforable to sit in!
The car has been used in loads of fashion and lifestyle photshoots and adverts.
We are moving on to a new project now though so this beauty has to go. It is stored at my place of work, Car Vault London in Shoreditch London N1 6JR where it can be viewed. We are outside of the congestion charge zone and have plenty of parking.
