Description
1926 Ford Model T
This particular car is one of the Irish assembled cars. The factory was set up in April 1917 in Cork, Ireland and was the first factory Ford had built outside of America. It was used to produce most parts for Ford of Britain as Ireland was still part of the UK. In 1926 this car was sold and registered in Southern Ireland. Unfortunately history around this period is unknown and so is it’s southern registration number. (I have been on to Department of Transport and also the DVLA and neither will tell me it’s previous registration number) The car went up to Northern Ireland in the 1980’s and got re-registered with an age related number “IB”. When the owner passed away it was then sold in auction and made its way to Mayo where it was stored in a private collection until I purchased the car in 2014. I got the car back running and driving and we have had our ups and downs on various vintage runs over the past 9 years. Overall the car is very original “oily rag” condition and would be a shame to repaint or do anything like that with it. The car is just sit in, drive and enjoy.
