Condition:
Overall; very good, it has done an estimated 5000 miles since the late 90s when it was restored, it's been garaged since. There are the odd imperfections around the body, I have machine polished the car, and it has come up lovely, the older non lacquered 2 pk paint is much easier to polish out scratches and imperfections.
The wheels have never been refurbished in 20+ years, so do have minor curbing on the outer edges of a couple of them. The interior has great patina, with nominal wear.
It starts and drives incredibly well, it pulls in the upper rev range and just goes. I've been lucky enough to own a number of 105 series cars over the years, and the performance of this is at the top. There is no crunching of the gearbox, it's smooth in all gears, the brakes are good too.
The speedometer and odo have not worked for years, This hasn't bothered me (I used the GPS Speedo on Google maps). I have never got round to investigating it. I recently changed the tyres, and the previous Uniroyals which were fitted in 2000, still had over 6mm of tread.
To build a car to this specification would quite easily cost in excess of £20, 000, not including a genuine UK RHD donor car.
Whilst the car is superb, it is still an older restoration, (it was built in the 90s when these were worth £3-£5k) so there are imperfections around the car, it is not to a concours standard that is the norm these days. Having said that, it's completely solid and has stood the test of time. It is an absolute joy to drive, bearing in mind it weighs considerably less than a tonne. It gets nothing but positive attention.
Any inspection or questions welcome.
Please note, I will not allow "test drives". I am happy to take prospective buyes for a drive for however long, and drive it in any manner (respecting mechanical sympathy) to experience the car.
