Escort mk 1 Mexico, this car has always been a rally car and privately entered, it has been off the road since the eighties, log book is live on the Dvla, will need to be applied for once mot’d , I have covering letters from Dvla to support this. I have the avo tag as pictured, matching numbers chassis and engine, the engine has been bored once with plenty left if needed, it is a big wing sumped 711m block, and the head has been rebuilt. It goes without saying the engine will need a thorough go through..
It also comes with, needing to be refurbished the correct , steering column , pedal box, clocks, exhaust, carb, English axle, diff, repair panels as needed, the body needs some work, probably blasting in some places, and two small repairs / patches , and about 12 inches to be replaced on the chassis, also there is skin supplied to go on the passenger door.
It has whatts linkage, 4 linked, it’s been tubed and turreted , large front and rear tunnel, seat mounts welded in , it has a safety devices multi point weld in cage, one of the best shells I have seen. Very good quality welding, looks like a gartrac shell. The front wings are standard and are tech screwed temporarily fixed, but are nos quality, it comes with steel front bubble arches and fibre glass so take your pick, the back arches are fibre glass.
The colour is sunset red, which is still visible on the underside of the bonnet and in the boot . And check out those rally stickers.
Mexico projects don’t come up very often with a shell like this, it will make a fantastic car.
