Our beautiful 1962 Austin-Healey 3000MKII rolled off the factory line on January 31, 1962, en route to her first owner in San Francisco. She was equipped with some sought-after extras, including signature wire wheels and an overdrive.
The stunning Primrose (Sunburst) yellow body color comes to life beautifully in the sunlight and, after a very high-quality repaint several years ago, still retains its luster as if new. Toward the end of the 1950s, Austin-Healey had already won a place in many hearts, especially in the American market. Although the 1956 100/ 6 roadster was well received, the 2. 6-liter engine proved no match for competitors. In response, the groundbreaking 3000 appeared in 1959. Externally it remained unchanged, but under the hood the 3000 boasted a powerful engine of nearly 3 liters with dual carburetors. This was accompanied by the replacement of drum brakes with disc brakes at the front.
