This is an exceptional and original low mileage example of the Mazda MX5 MK1, with under 34k miles. It has a manual gearbox and the more powerful 1. 8ltr engine producing 131 bhp. This car has been looked after fantastically during its lifetime, being kept in a heated garage for 15 years by the previous owner. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere and the bodywork is stunning as shown in the pictures. Leather seats and premium mohair roof fitted to complement its interior colour scheme. Full service history from new, MOT till July 2024 with no advisories (all minor advisories fixed).
Bodywork classic starlight silver is in excellent condition with no marks, scratches or dents. No signs of rust or corrosion anywhere on the sills and arches. The sills have never been welded before and all original features like the spot welds are still visible on the pictures. Detailed pictures of the underside suspension have also been included showing good condition.
Interior feels very luxurious, the leather seats have no marks, damage or tears. The dashboard clocks have been upgraded to white dials which are easier on the eye in my view, however, the original black dials also come with the paperwork accompanying the car. Super clean and tidy on the inside, no scuffs or other visible wear marks. Stylish anti-roll bar looks great when the hood is down. Soft top mohair roof completely watertight and heated rear glass window. The boot is clean and includes the toolkit and spare wheel from factory.
The car sounds and drives amazing, the gearbox and engine both feel like a new car. It pulls strong as you move through the gears, the exhaust has a nice note with no unusual noises coming from the suspension. The engine idles nicely, the other dash clocks for oil pressure and temperature hold in the correct range. I recently did a 200-mile journey in the car and it was so comfortable and enjoyable, it feels very modern for a car of this age. Being a non-power steering model, you can fully appreciate the precise handling and feel of the road when driving.
Lots of paperwork and documentation come with the car. Two sets of keys and its fitted with a factory immobiliser. This special edition also has additional aluminium bracing in the engine, rear passenger seat and on the rear of the underside. This notably improves the performance and handling. The engine bay presents all clean and original, with no modifications from standard.
