1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow lwb Low Mileage 58, 000. FSH.
Registered 'Historic vehicle', therefore MOT, Tax & ULEZ exempt in line with TFL policy- 'All vehicles that have a historic vehicle tax class will be exempt from the ULEZ.'
Supplied new on 4th September 1973 by Hadley Green Garage, Barnet and finished in Sand Gold over Astrakhan with beige Everflex roof and leather interior. This unrestored low mileage example was kept virtually unused for 29 years between 1984 and 2013 in a heated & carpeted integral garage at the third owner’s home, covering only 1500 miles during this period. It presents very much as it would have 40 yrs ago as a 10-yr-old and has not needed any welding repairs or restoration work. It has always been garaged and never fallen into the ‘wrong hands’.
The paintwork is largely original and has not had recent re-spraying, the leather is supple and undamaged, the carpets, rugs and woodwork are original and very good indeed. All instruments, locks, windows, gauges and warning lights work correctly- even the aerial. The tool kits are present and complete.
The Shadow has had just three owners- plus one intermediary prior to myself- and I have the ownership history from new.
It comes complete with original wallet, handbook, stamped service history with evidence of 9 main agent services up to 54, 109 miles, original warranty document, delivery & advice note, original sales brochure. and toolkits. The car still wears its original single digit registration plate.
I purchased the Shadow ten years ago shortly after the third owner's death and it has been fully recommissioned at considerable expense after its long period of inactivity, notably:-
braking system fully overhauled with 6 new calipers & pads, every flexy hose (13) and hydraulic fluid (RR363) replaced; complete top quality stainless steel exhaust, carburettors & auto choke overhauled; new fuel pump; new water pump; starter motor overhauled; new self-levelling control valve; new gearbox oil cooler pipes and flexys; new regulator; all 4 driveshaft 'Detroit joint' gaiters & steering column gaiter; 4 new tyres, new battery, full engine service(s) with oil, coolant, new filters, plugs, distributor cap, electronic ignition module, coil and ballast resistor. Bills and MOT’s since 2013 to show, plus some older ones..
