The time has come to sell my 1983 Mini City E 998cc to make way for another project. I have owned it since 2011 originally buying as a rolling shell, got it back on the road in 2012 until it failed an MOT in 2015 for the dreaded rust. Over the following 7 years, being garaged and dry stored, I have replaced the inner and outer sills (vented), both rear wheel arches, boot floor end repair, rear valance and both driver and passenger front floor repairs. It was re-painted in 2022 in BU8 Island Blue and WT4 Snowberry White roof.
Specification:
- Original 998cc engine with genuine 43089 miles only. I have every MOT since 1984 to prove the mileage.
?Stage 1? upgrades ? HIF38 Carb (believe AAA needle), Metro alloy inlet manifold, Maniflow freeflow exhaust manifold, Maniflow single box exhaust system, K&N air filter in original housing
- Accuspark electronic ignition distributor and sports coil
- 7. 5" brake disc conversion
- Reverse rims 4. 5? x 10? wheels (also have original centre caps)
- Opening rear quarter windows
- Group 2 wheel arches
- Original centre speedo converted to triple centre speedo with Smiths temperature and oil pressure gauges. Smiths 4 cyl rev counter also fitted.
- Later Cooper sport steering wheel fitted, but also have the original larger wheel still.
- Interior re-trimmed to black and cream
I have extensive paperwork including every receipt for purchases during my ownership, the original Austin owners manual, every MOT since 1984, and the Austin brochure from 1983. As it is now 40 years old, it is also MOT exempt (current expires Feb 2024 ? but happy to re-mot for new owner) and will be Car Tax Exempt from April 2024.
