With just three former keepers this 50 year old local bike was recommissioned after long term storage and MOT'd for the road. After occasional outings last year and standing over the winter it wouldn't start and probably needs the points cleaning. It's had some refurbishment, the wheels have been refinished as has the front guard, both in automotive two-pack in the correct colour. The usual parts, chain, battery (AGM), points, etc., have been replaced, tyres are good as is the undamaged original seat. There is surface corrosion on the paint but none appears structural. Best of all, the bike is completely original with its leg shields, the correct key and even a plastic protective sleeve over the brake lever. They don't come more authentic than this!
I was drawn to this one because the registration number and date are very close to a Honda that I bought brand new, and also because I've previously had similar Dax "Monkey" bikes and wanted another fun bike - it always attracts attention and smiles! I've written about this bike in the bike magazines too. But with more bikes than I need, I should move one or two on now.
