Very rare 1971 Mini ‘MK3’.
The Mini MK3, combined the booted rear end of the Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet with the rounded front of the standard ADO15 Mini.
In two years from 1969-1971, just 3871 cars were built and sold in South Africa (equivalent to one week’s production of Minis at Longbridge).
This car left the Cape Town factory with the 1971 Clubman 1275cc engine as per customer request. Matching numbers car.
Very solid example from the dry climate of South Africa and now UK registered.
80129kms on the clock (just under 50k miles).
The following recent works have been completed:
•Replacement classic style radiator, fan and associated pipe work.
•All four drum brakes overhauled and sections of front fuel lines.
•New oil and air filter.
•New fluids.
•New spark plugs and leads.
•New window rubbers and chrome trim.
Second hand heater, pipes and pull cable available with the car.
Suggested items to replace:
•Bonnet badge.
•Replacement steering wheel.
•Could have a respray at some point. Some minor surface rust in areas.
•Boot cylinder lock required.
Overall a special rare Mini. Will be a highlight at any classic car show. So very few of these cars remain in existence.
