Doon LWB Beach Buggy
Key features include:
Correctly registered on the V5 as a Volkswagen Doon Convertible 1600
LWB shell (no. 36) with side pods and opening bonnet (very thick glass layup with return edges for high strength)
1600cc engine with twin Solex carbs, Pertronix electronic ignition conversion, Supertrapp tunable exhaust cans and colour coded block. Rebuilt from scratch by VolksMagic for this buggy. Professionally rolling-road tuned, starts and runs great. Only 3500 miles from re-build.
1971 VW Beetle chassis, fully stripped, wax treated, sealed and painted with new side floors.
Front disk brakes.
All stainless fixings for easy maintenance.
Full custom roll cage and bikini hood.
Seats reconditioned from Audi TT, very comfortable. Rear seat also modified from Audi TT. Colour matched lap and diagonal seatbelts for all four seats.
Fully working VW polo column incl ignition and stalks.
Wiring to VW colour codes installed by Chad Chadwick (creator of Doon).
Garage stored all it's life, taxed and full MOT history, latest from April 2024. This is my Doon LWB Buggy which was professionally built by VolksMagic in 2014. It still features in the gallery of their website as it was a favourite of the owner Lee Southerton. It was custom built to my specifications, focusing on ease of ownership, and is in very good condition. There have been several upgrades since incl Supertrapp exhaust cans, Pertronix electronic ignition and a bikini hood. It has been very reliable and has never had an advisory on the MOT.
It was christened ‘Hulk - The incredible Doon’ by the VolksMagic guys during the build for obvious reasons and it now carries many body stickers in this theme (easily removed if required).
No time wasters please, this is a very high quality Buggy and I'm in no hurry to sell.
