A real commercial success in the 1970s, the Ford Escort Mark 1 (MK1) featured contemporary styling, thanks in particular to its 'dog bone' grille. Ford soon launched production of rally versions. These included the RS 1600 and RS 2000. The Escort was a great success, and its various evolutions made it one of the most successful rally cars of all time. The example we are offering for sale is an RS 2000 entered in 1974. It took part in numerous Finnish rallies until 2009. Since then, it has taken part in and finished the Tour Auto in 2023 and 2024.
