Descripción
For sale is my 1983 Ford Sierra MK1 GL.
I will stress that this is a very reluctant sale, however my circumstances have changed considerably since I purchased it in May 2022 and I am simply not able to dedicate the same time these days into using her enough. She used to be my only car and would enjoy near-daily use but since changing jobs I have had to get a 2nd car more suitable to my work.
I have tried to be as open and honest about her as possible, I have also tried to price her reasonably given I have only looked after and invested in her, but I am open to genuine offers. Payment by cash or bank transfer on collection.
Main Stats:
- Registered 30/ 08/ 1983
- 1993cc engine
- 3-speed automatic gearbox
- 108, 100 miles
Work carried out since I took ownership:
- Gearbox refurbished (August 2022)
- New front suspension struts (September 2022)
- Thatcham Category 1 Immobiliser & Alarm (November 2022)
- New battery (December 2023)
- Recent full service and some minor bits carried out by Des Cars of Doncaster (May 2024)
Good bits:
- Full and complete history dating back to the original sale in November 1983
- Original manuals, sales brochures etc
- Owned by for most of her life by one owner from 1986 until his death in 2018.
- Two sets of keys ana two sets of alarm fobs
- Has a unique paint scheme applied by the original dealer at Bristol Street Motors, Bristol Street, Birmingham which is believed to have been called the ‘swift’ livery. I have not seen evidence of this applied to any other vehicle, at least not to any still on the road today.
- Being a GL, it is the 2nd highest specification for the MK1 Sierra and the brochure details the various features etc
- Original interior with Chelsea cloth seats and shag carpets
- Original AM radio and cassette player
- Has an exceptional MOT record
- MOT and Tax exempt since 1 April 2024, and I have completed the process with the DVLA to change her tax status to Historic/£0 which is reflected in the logbook
- Also exempt from London’s ULEZ and congestion charge
- Sunroof works and seals are intact
Not so good bits:
- The rear bumper is slightly loose on the right side
- There are some pin head sized rust spots around the bodywork.
- There is an fairly sizeable area of rust under the driver’s door as well as other smaller bits of rust elsewhere under the sides
- There is small hole in the front passenger seat
- Minor blemishes both inside and outside
- The door seals could do with some attention
Car is located in Goole, East Yorkshire.
