Description
1960 MGA Mk1 two door roadster in Old English White fitted with 1600 B series petrol engine and twin SU carburettors. Gearbox upgraded to Ford 9 manual 5 speed by previous owner. Included in the sale is the old 4 speed gearbox which I am told was still useable and working when upgraded to the 5 speed. Comes with side screens, perspex side windshields and tonneau cover. It has a black fabric roof with no leaks.
The car was registered in June 1960 and comes with an English heritage certificate which was issued in 2013. The car had been originally exported to Florida where it spent its first 30 years. It was repatriated to the UK in 1991, where it was restored and converted to RHD. It has had three previous owners and I purchased it in 2017. In my ownership I have had it resprayed in 2020 still in its original colour OEW. The interior was upgraded by me with Coverdale premium Kensington Ruby carpets plus the boot. Parts I have also replaced are the 6v batteries to a single 12v., and I have fitted a battery isolator switch. The distributor I upgraded with a basic electronic system. It has been regularly serviced with the front and rear brakes refurbished. The starter motor and dynamo also maintained with new bushes and brushes. It has been loved and cherished and always garaged by an MG club member. The paint from 2020 is still in excellent condition with bright chrome work. The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition. It is a solid car with no rust. It has good oil pressure and does not overheat and comes with an electric fan to make sure it keeps its cool! Comes with a comprehensive history file with invoices, old MOTs, tax discs and manual book.
The boot lid is slightly open, so not fully closed. There is no issue with the lid.
The insurance agreed valuation is £28000.
The car has no faults and is a pleasure to drive.
