Low Mileage at around 86K - car is in use daily

I acquired the 928 S in May 2023 and the car was in good running order and I used it a fair amount during the summer while testing / combing it through mechanically with the more extensive work done winter 2023/ 24. A lot of the work below was done preventatively as its a 40 year old car so no chances taken on bolt on bits in every category of the car.

The work is done in conjunction with Sussex Automotive who I've entrusted for a good 15 years. I use the car in good weather only and so far have put around a 1000 miles on it since coming out of storage in April 2024. I get a bit itchy for a new project once I finish up a car so hence why Im floating it online. No other 928S for sale is this sorted. The “S” model is generally preferred to the S2 and S4 (engine) as it’s more simple and easier to work on with less electronics.
For a bit of background. Car was stored 2007 to 2014 in a storage place with most miles done before 2008. Recommissioned by previous owner in 2015 with all belts / liquids / brakes etc done. The car was then hardly used (see MOT History) and looked after at a basic level from 2014 to 2023. Receipts and invoices from this time is filed but not extensive. Recommissioning receipts are all there.

In my ownership I have done the following. Keep in mind that most of this is preventative work as the car is 40 years old and I enjoy the challenge of delving into classics and not being caught out on old bolt on parts.

Electrical -

New Hi-torque WOSP starter motor + cold start wiring (for long cranking)
New HELLA premium alternator and belt
All new ceramic fuses and basic relays - preventative and to get away from copper fuses.
Beru HT leads and iridium spark plugs
New Bosch distributor cap and rotor
New Bosch ignition coil and wiring
HiD dual headlight kit (design911. com) - Not obvious at all so not to attract police attention, OEM was awfully dim..
Custom lower spotlights (not connected yet)
New dual headlight relay - preventative / known to fail
Various Grounds checked and cleaned around the car
Dash light dimmer bridged - known issue that dimmer Rheostat fails
New Premium VARTA battery (March 2024)
Everything works as it should and has a clean and strong crank.

Suspension and Control -

Front and rear strut assembly COMPLETELY rebuilt with OEM suspension parts
KONI special red shocks front and rear - great upgrade from OEM Boge / Sachs units.
New height adjustable threads and adjuster nut on rear shocks - height adjustable with OEM wrench included.
New front and rear tie rods
New rear trailing arm bushes.
Complete new rear upper control arms for Weissach setup - arms, bushes, arms, bolts, nuts
New shock rubber mounts and fittings on both ends / new dust covers, bump stops etc etc
New STEEL lower front Wishbone ball joints + bolts and eccentrics (OEM are alloy and wear out)
HUnter 4 wheel alignment done AFTER the above
Have near new GAZ coil overs spare which I used during rebuild of OEM. Nothing beats the OEM suspension though -
No other bushings needed for the foreseeable future and most of the above was "good to do while rebuilding"

Fuel system -

Refurbished fuel pump cradle with new "to tank seal" etc
New Bosch fuel pump, FEBI filter and all new fittings
New fuel hose on tank return line
Tank washed out for good measure.
All Fuel lines checked thoroughly, no issues.

Steering -

New MOMO California wood and brushed alloy steering wheel and MOMO hub. (OEM included)
New FULL steering rods and gators - not just the ends, the whole rods Hunter wheel alignment - rear camber and caster adj bolts loosened off for adjustment.
Rear drive shafts removed and rebuilt with new seals / gators / filled with grease.
PS fluid was sucked out , cleaned out and refilled.
4x New Pirelli Rosso tyres - May 2024
New wheel lug nuts OEM
20mm bolt on spacers on rear to fill out arches.

Brake system -

New OEM vented and directional OEM front disc brakes and OEM Zimmermann in rear
Refurbished calipers and all new fittings
ALL brake hoses replaced / Ultimax EBC brake pads - non aggressive Sports pads
new OEM master cylinder spare as I found one at a good price.
Brake fluid flushed x2 - brakes are great and were great but I like brakes to be new and shiny all around.

FULL Respray in OEM Hell Bronze - minus roof and hatch.

RUN OUT OF CHARACTERS........ EMAIL FOR OMPLETE LIST OF WORK DONE. Summary -

The car handles and drives brilliantly. It's very forgiving over our rough UK roads with its OEM suspension. Ride height at 175mm on all 4 corners. (OEM height) The hunter wheel alignment put everything where it should be.

Keep in mind, its a 40 year old car, it has some very minor marks and it doesn’t drive like a modern car, heavy-ish power steering, some interior noise and lots of smiles.

The car has never been welded or crashed. I have photos of the repaint and as you would see, the paint was tired only. Keep in mind that the hood, fenders, doors are aluminium.

Not looking to ship abroad, crypto deal or convince you that it’s the right car for you.

May consider part ex for 2018-up Mercedes , Alfa Giulia Veloce (NO high mileage / Diesel / SUV's)

There is plenty of great info online about these cars. You would be buying a 928S that doesn’t need endless work / has a deferred maintenance / time and worrying about so no matter how shiny the other 928 looks on photos, its not a match to this one. Also keep in mind there is a reason why late 80's into 90's S2/ S4 cars are cheaper and readily available, mostly due to not having historic value / Tax and Ulez Exemption and a more complicated engine / electronic management / 20+ yr old catalytic converters. The early 'S" doesnt have Cats, just 3 mufflers.

Parts were mostly sourced from Design911. com and Rose Passion, both are highly reliable but Rose Passion being much faster. Ebay is good for 2nd had bits if needed.
