This is my Beautiful and RARE 1938 TRIUMPH 350 CC Tiger T80. It had a nut and bolt restoration in 2014 with engine re-build.
It is in Stunning, First Class condition for an 86 year old bike. These Triumphs are considered to be some of the best looking bike of the period, and maybe ever.
It starts and runs very well, and in the time I have owned it I have concentrated on making it very useable. I have taken it on over 100 mile journeys. When not being used it often sat in my living room.
I have a folder with receipts from the rebuild, it has had 2 previous keepers. It is registered as a Historic Vehicle.
Price is £8799 ono. Edward Turner's arrival at Triumph in 1936 resulted in extensive improvements to the previous designer's (Val Page) range of bikes. Page himself vastly improved Triumph when he arrived in 1932. Turner, a brilliant stylist, transformed the Page-designed overhead-valve singles by adopting sports specification engines, high level exhausts, chromed fuel tanks and a new name: 'Tiger'. Frames, forks, engines and gearboxes were all improved for 1937 and a trio of randomly selected Tigers successfully completed a series of arduous speed trails to secure the Maudes Trophy for Triumph later in the year. Today, Turner's Tigers are widely recognised as the most stylish sports roadsters of the period and thus are highly sought after.
I purchased this bike from Village Motorcycles of Stowmarket in Jan 2021. I wanted a T80 not just because it was beautiful, but because my father toured northern France on one in 1946 after he returned from the war.
