Produced from 1975 to 1978 in only 2669 examples, the Land Rover 101 Forward Control is based on the Land Rover Series III. Land Rover engineers created it with the cab above the engine and a shorter wheelbase of 101 inches (hence the name).
Equipped with the Range Rover's 3. 5-litre V8 and LT95 gearbox, the 101 FCs were designed for military use and then stored for possible mobilisation in the event of a third world war. They were then resold, much to the delight of collectors.
