Design & Styling
The Sandstorm Edition stands out with its Matte Storm Grey and Ironstone paint scheme, designed to evoke an off-road, rugged aesthetic. It also features a high front mudguard, a tail tidy with an LED light, and a brushed aluminium skid plate—all of which give it a more adventure-ready appearance compared to the standard Street Scrambler. A special numbered certificate of authenticity adds to its exclusivity.
Engine & Performance
Powering the Sandstorm is the same 900cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine as the standard Street Scrambler, producing 64bhp at 7, 250 rpm and 80Nm of torque at 3, 250 rpm. The engine is Euro 5 compliant and retains Triumph’s signature torque-rich, smooth delivery, making it excellent for both urban commuting and light off-road adventures. The five-speed gearbox ensures easy power management, though some might wish for a sixth gear on longer rides.
Chassis & Handling
• Frame & Suspension: The tubular steel frame is unchanged, with 41mm KYB front forks (120mm travel) and twin KYB rear shocks. While it’s not a hardcore off-roader, it handles light trails and rough roads well.
• Brakes: A Brembo 4-piston front caliper (310mm disc) and a Nissin rear caliper (255mm disc) provide strong braking performance, with switchable ABS.
