Mazda MX-5 Mk2 Icon
A simply lovely ( and very low mileage) special edition Mk2 Icon; complete with unique, supplying dealer fitted extras of projector headlamps, 17" Oz Racing alloy wheels, OEM side skirts and front bib spoiler.
The car was bought in this trim from new (confirmed following a recent conversation with the original dealer) and has been with the same owner from that time. I acquired it late last year with a view to using it as a summer show car.
It has always been garaged, and serviced as necessary. Most recently it had a complete new clutch fitted at the Mazda main dealer, and a replacement OEM gel-type battery.
The car has only covered 16, 500 miles from new, and drives accordingly. The interior is beautiful - the lovely light cream leatherwork complimented by the Italian Nardi wood trimmings and steering wheel. The soft top (with heated glass rear window) is in perfect condition.
Bodywork is lovely and the paintwork sparkles, being a special mica formulation - the colour is 'Art Vin'. Although very good, there are the inevitable small stone chips; light scuffs to the bib spoiler; a trolley style ding near the handle of the driver's door; and scuffs to the wheels, which would ideally benefit from refurbishment. The one and only advisory from the last MOT was for an ageing tyre, so this has been replaced with a matching pair of Pirelli P Zeros.
The chassis is in great shape and well protected, having been professionally cleaned and undersealed four years ago, and is still nice and clean, having seen only very light use in the intervening years.

Prior to the dealer fitted upgrades, the car would have come as standard with 15" Enkie alloy wheels. I have since obtained a full set of these original fitment wheels, fitted with a fresh set of Kumho tyres, should the next owner prefer these to the Oz wheels.
