Here for sale is my 2005 MG ZR105+ Trophy SE finished in ignition blue with half-leather matrix interior. I am the 3rd registered owner, I bought it last summer from the previous owner who had owned it for nearly 19 years. In the time I’ve had it, I’ve given it a major overhaul to make it a fantastic example, rectifying the common issues which are found on most of these cars and it has just passed its MOT with no advisories, valid until MARCH 2026
Please see photos for the full details of the work carried out, but in summary its had:
- Top end engine rebuild including brand new head gasket, head bolts, timing belt & water pump with extra preventative maintenance along the way such as new valve stem oil seals, camshaft oil seals, inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets
- Thorough cooling system inspection and overhaul, all pipes, hoses and the radiator have been removed and flushed clean, deteriorated hoses replaced as required and multiple cooling system and heater matrix flushes. The heater gets nice and warm as it should and the temperature control operates from hot to cold as it should which is rare to find on these vehicles
- Major service including new oil and coolant, oil, air, fuel & cabin filters and platinum spark plugs
- Welding repairs carried out with replacement panels to the sills and rear inner wheel arches, a common weak point on these cars all sorted, painted and waxed for protection.
- Brand new body control unit
- New nearside front brake caliper and front outer CV boots
Being the Trophy SE, it has plenty of equipment such as remote central locking, electric windows, bodykit, “lexus lights”, 17” MG straight alloys, full sized alloy spare wheel, air conditioning (no sunroof)
It’s previously had a set of lowering springs fitted and has a Toyosports stainless mid-rear exhaust system which brings out a tone without being obnoxiously loud.
I’ve done well over 1000 miles since the engine overhaul and it hasn’t skipped a beat, its held temperature as it should and the coolant has remained clean and up to level.
The interior headlining is sagging which I haven’t yet got around to sorting out, there is a possibility I can negotiate to have this done on sale.
Its now time to find a new owner for this car as a new project forces sale. There aren’t many other examples in this price point as well sorted as this one and I will be sad to see it go. It’s priced at £1995, I’m willing to listen to sensible offers
